We booked our trip to Zakynthos at the last minute, looking for a bit of sunshine to enjoy over my birthday. Finding somewhere lovely to relax was therefore top of our list of priorities, and our suite at Emerald Villas ended up being utterly perfect.

The Location
Only a short drive from the beach and tavernas of Agios Nikolaos, the Emerald Villas are in the north east of Zakynthos. They offered the perfect blend of the gleaming sea views Greece is famous for, and the privacy and quiet the interior of the island offers. There are a selection of private villas and suite complexes on offer, all with private pools and sea views.
The Accommodation
Our suite, and the surrounding properties, were spotlessly clean and very well maintained. The staff were super friendly, and very knowledgeable about the island. The suites were beautifully furnished, making the most of the bright sunny space. There was a very comfortable king size bed, and a well-appointed shower room.
The kitchen and living space were similarly tastefully done, with everything you could need to cater for yourselves. And if cooking for yourself doesn’t sound like a holiday, most of the local restaurants will deliver. We definitely made use of this as we simply couldn’t bear to leave the view!
The Extras
It is the terrace and private pool that really make it – they were exceptional! The walls offer fantastic seclusion without interrupting the views, and the sun loungers were so comfortable we struggled to persuade ourselves off them!
The Less Loveable
I am struggling so hard to find even one little downside, but can only come up with the fact that you need a car to get anywhere, including going out for dinner – but this is nothing a taxi can’t fix!
